IEEE EnergyCon 2010 IEEE EnergyCon 2010
Industry Track Details

This track is designated to highlight the application of latest technologies in the field of energy. Also, case studies and companies experiences can be shared in this Track. The Industry Track will have the following sessions:

  • Energy Conservation (Tools, Methods, Software):

This session will be focusing on the new state of the art tools, methods, and software in heat integration, combined heat and power, mechanical energy recovery and low-grade waste heat recovery methodologies. Pinch technology and related methods as well as papers in mathematical programming, model formulation and solution are welcomed.
  • Energy Efficiency-Industrial Applications & Success Stories:

This session is for the applications of energy optimization measures in in industry such as oil and gas production, gas processing, NGL and LNG processes, refining and petrochemical applications as well as all other application in energy-intensive processes.
  • Renewable Energies Technologies and Challenges:

This session will be focusing on renewable energy applications in industrial environments for hybrid power generation, process heating and cooling applications as well as industrial buildings environment control.
  • Smart Grid Technologies & Challenges:

The “smart grid” is the product of applying smart energy technology to electrical power generation and at delivery points. A smart grid integrates elements of traditional and advanced power engineering, sophisticated sensing and monitoring technology, information technology, and communications to afford enhanced grid performance and to support consumers. A smart grid is not defined by what technologies it includes, but rather by what it can do. This session will cover smart energy technologies which are beginning to transform the power network into a smart grid capable of meeting 21st century economic, security and environmental challenges.
  • Policies & Regulations for Energy and Environment:

This session will be focusing on energy policy and regulation which has a direct impact on the performance of energy markets and regulated energy networks. The policy issues include energy security, renewable energies, and energy efficiency and emission reductions schemes. Moreover, worldwide recognized experts will help in understand main concepts for price control, tariff design, efficiency analysis and quality of supply for different segments of the energy industry.
  • IT Applications Supporting the Energy Sector:

IT Technologies and services impacting the Energy sector will be presented and discussed including new IT industry initiatives to conserve energy. The potential benefits of an enhanced power delivery system utilizing advanced IT applications are enormous. The session will provide a new approach of understanding IT applications in energy sectors such as power, oil & gas production, gas processing and forecasting demands functions.
  • New Frontiers in Multi-Generation Energy System:

This session will be talking about new methods of applying Multi-Generation devices in the system and how to merge them in the entire system. The Development Challenges and opportunities for Large Scale Multi-Generation Energy System from Stakeholder Perspective and Developer Perspective will be identified. Moreover, Global Warming Potential impacts and carbon emission are explained and compared with overall system performance.
