The first Energy Conference sponsored by the IEEE Region-8 and the IEEE Saudi Arabia Section was held during December 18-22, 2010 at Manama, Bahrain. EnergyCon featured several technical papers, industry tracks, standard workshop, tutorials and a huge exhibition area. EnergyCon also featured top academic and industry speakers from around the world to share their technical expertise.

ENERGYCON was organized by the IEEE Saudi Arabia Section with technical support from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and the IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS).
EnergyCon 2010 provided an international forum for the exchange of innovative technologies related to the Oil & Gas as well as alternative Energy industry. It is the premier IEEE forum for the exchange of experience in the practical application of electronics, power and instrumentation in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industries including all Upstream and Downstream activities. Sessions on alternative energy industry such as Hydrogen, solar power, wind power, heat transfer and renewable ocean energy technologies will also be encouraged to be part of this international conference.
